We specialise in Light Vehicle In-Service inspections both General (WOF) and COF A, as well as used vehicle entry inspection training. We can provide training for light passenger vehicles, Trailers, and Motorcycles, as well as QMS and PRS Management training.

Understanding the EVIRM Course

Our EVIRM Vehicle Inspection Course covers all the essential topics, including VIRM navigation, interpretation techniques, and legal requirements. Upon completion, you'll be fully equipped to use the VIRM portal to carry out comprehensive vehicle inspections.

Advanced Inspection Training

Our Advanced Inspections Training focuses on real world scenarios of inspections and how to use the EVIRM knowledge gained in the EVIRM course to determine the outcome of real world inspections. You will learn practical inspection methods, what's involved in an inspection and key focus areas such as inspection methods and where/what to be checking on the vehicles. Gain the skills to complete vehicle inspections effectively. This course is a great refresher course for your workshops vehicle inspectors. This course is often used to complete group training sessions for you workshops vehicle inspectors to keep up to date with new amendments and technical documents. Individuals and groups receive a training certificate to load into the sites QMS training records.

Becoming a AVI and NZTA Test Preparation

This is the final step in your journey to becoming a certified vehicle Inspector. In this course you will be given mock tests to prepare you for the NZTA theory test, as well as run through a real inspection on a vehicle in preparation for the practical side of the test. If you have already completed the EVIRM, and Advanced inspection training you will be well prepared for this course. At the end of this course you will receive your course completion certificate to add to your QMS, as well as receiving a training letter from us to go along with your application to become an AVI 

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the prerequisites for enrolling in your courses?

There are no specific prerequisites for enrolling in our courses. However, there are prerequisites for your application to become an inspector.

There are 3 main ways you can become a vehicle inspector:

  • You have a qualification we accept by itself.
  • You have a qualification we accept alongside experience as an automotive technician.
  • You have experience as an automotive technician.

The number of years of experience you need as an automotive technician depend on what you’re applying for.

Full information about the qualifications we accept or the experience you need can be found later on the NZTA website.

You must also complete training with a training provider so you’re prepared to pass a theory and practical test. This we can help you with!

You are based in Wellington, do you travel NZ or offer online training?

Yes, we are Wellington based. We can travel at cost to yourself or your organisation. We also offer online training and zoom sessions, as well as video walkthroughs as a substitute for on site inspection training if travel cover is not an option. Upon completion, you'll receive a training completion letter from us.

Can I apply for financial assistance or scholarships?

Yes, we offer financial assistance options in the form of study now, pay later loan contracts (these loans will have interest). As we are not apart of Te Pukenga or any other Govt education group we do not offer scholarships to students. Please get in touch with our team for more information.
